Kevin Staut and Marie Valder Longem physically abused by each other

At the beginning of this month Norwegian rider, Marie Valdar Longem has filed a report with the FEI, claiming France's Olympic rider, Kevin Staut has physically abused her during an argument. The French magazine, Le Parisien, reports also that Longem also reported the abuse to the French police. In a reaction, France's top rider, Kevin Staut denies the claim and states Longem was attacking him and if physical violence was present, it was merely because of selfdefence.

The assault should have taken place during the International Jumping in Bordeaux, at the beginning of February. Longem states she was assaulted after having an argument in their hotel room. She was left with a concussion and a nose bleeding. In his counter claim, Staut states he has been violently verbally and physically assaulted in a private context, states the French publication of L'Equipe.

At this stage nor the FEI , nor the FFE does  comment in this case. "We want to ensure the integrity of the process and do not comment any further in this stage of the investigation."
