The French showjumping rider Hervé Godignon is to become the new Finish teamcoach. With an eye on the WEG in 2014 the Finish federation asked the 61-year-old showjumper to guide them to succes. If all goes well there is an option to make a contract of two years. Godignon might be dissapeared from the topsport level, he still trains some young horses. In the past he won the French National title five times, jumped to a silver and bronze medal at an European Championship and placed fourth at the Olympic Games with his topstallion, Quidan de Revel. When asking him what the goal is for Normandy 2014 Godignon states the Finish team has to be realistic. "We lost several tophorses in the Finish team. The main goal is not set on victory but the first half of the ranking." © Equnews.be/ Finish Federation
