Rolex to sponsor Indoor Brabant

From the coming and 47th edition Indoor Brabant will double the prize money of the Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon to € 350.000, strengthening its international position in the top of the Indoor Jumping Circuit. “Indoor Brabant has big ambitions and wants to join the top 3 of the world. To make this possible it is very important to distinguish ourselves from the other competitions. Therefore we have intentionally chosen another path by not being a part of the World Cup Jumping circuit anymore. By significantly increasing the prize money we secured participation of the absolute top riders of the world and the highest level equestrian sport has to offer”, said Gerrit Jan Swinkels, chairman of Indoor Brabant. Theo Ploegmakers, chairman of the Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation (KNHS), is very enthusiastic about the giant step Indoor Brabant is taking. “It is fantastic that one of the best competitions in the world is organized in the Netherlands. This step contributes to bringing equestrian sport into focus in our country”. National coach Rob Ehrens is also positive about the initiative of Indoor Brabant. “The level of the prize money is essential to compete at the highest level. Indoor Brabant chooses to join the top and will attract the best national and international riders to be present in ’s-Hertogenbosch.” The increase of the prize money is possible with regard to the joining of Rolex as a main sponsor. The Swiss watchmaker has a long history with equestrian sport and is involved in the best competitions of the world: Aachen, Calgary and Geneva. “We are greatly honoured that Rolex has committed itself to Indoor Brabant for the long term. Rolex’s charisma and ambitions excellently match Indoor Brabant”, says Gerrit Jan Swinkels. Arnaud Boetsch, Director of Communications with Rolex, says, “Rolex and Indoor Brabant share their passion for excellence and perfection. We are looking forward to a long-lasting and successful partnership with this prestigious competition.” Indoor Brabant starts on 20 March 2014, and will be concluded with the Rolex Grand Prix on Sunday 23 March 2014 at 3 PM. © press release
