Tobago Z tops Z-Ranking

After the consolation prizes were awarded for seven-year-old horses at the World Championships, the checks for the Z-Ranking were presented. Jonas Bellemans had the honor of receiving the largest check as the breeder of Tobago Z.

To provide an additional service to breeders, Zangersheide has been keeping a ranking of horses registered with Studbook Zangersheide at birth and now performing in international sports for several years. During the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses, the breeders of the top 3 winning horses receive a bonus.

Tobago Z in first place

In the past year, Tobago Z, a son of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, performed the best. The fifteen-year-old stallion was bred by Jonas Bellemans, who proudly received the check (worth 8,000 euros). Bellemans started him as a young stallion himself and also competed with him in Lanaken when he was five years old. He then handed over the reins to Daniel Deusser, who has been in charge of the successful stallion since 2016.

Tobago Z has already jumped to victory over twenty times in his career, fifteen of which were at the highest level, and has accumulated over half a million euros in prize money.

Landon Z (formerly Crack de Nyze Z) in second place

In second place, we have the ten-year-old stallion Landon, formerly known as Crack de Nyze Z. The son of Comilfo Plus Z was bred by Danny Nijs, who received 6,000 euros, and is ridden by Kent Farrington. The young stallion has already claimed the top spot four times under Farrington, who has been riding him since 2021. Before that, he received his training under Niels Fockaert.

Third place for Beauville Z

The third and final stallion in the spotlight was Beauville Z, bred by Pascal Habets. They received a check for 5,000 euros. This thirteen-year-old stallion is a descendant of Bustique and has been closely associated with the Dutch showjumper Maikel van der Vleuten since 2013, who acquired him through the NOP association.
