In Doha, the main number of the day was jumped just now: a 1m55 with separate jump-off. Eight riders could jump a clear round. A jump-off with eight had to decide the winner. Niels Bruynseels was the first to enter the ring. He could with Frency VDS (v. Cornet Obolensky), Vicky van de Poel her former top horse, immediately put down a top chrono. The duo left the wood untouched in 37.04 seconds.
That time remained the fastest time until the last combination: Scott Brash managed to sharpen Bruynseels' time even more. The British top rider rode no less than a second faster in the saddle of Hello Vincent (by Consul Dl Vie Z) and finished in 36.08 seconds. Christian Kukuk completed the top three. He counted on Checker (by Comme Il Faut 5) to jump a clear round in 37.13 seconds.
Pieter Devos (Jade vd Bisschop) and Henrik von Eckermann (King Edward) completed the top five.
