Swiss victory in Grand Prix Oliva

In Oliva, a busy international weekend was concluded with the Grand Prix. The riders got to jump a very difficult basic course: only four riders were able to keep the zero. So a jump-off with four had to decide the win.

The victory went to the Swiss Edwin Smits. He was the only jump-off candidate who could keep the zero. He rode the KWPN gelding Garezzo (by Arezzo VDL) to the finish in 44.41 seconds, leaving the wood unouched. The young German Richard Vogel finished in second place. He set the fastest jump-off time but Floyo VDL (by Baltic VDL) knocked fence down. Katharina Offel and Chaning Tatum (by Canturano) finished in third place. They also got one jumping fault and finished in 42.05 seconds.

Andres Vereecke was the best Belgian in fourth place. He counted on d'Artagan RR (by Diamant de Semilly) for this. Victor Bettendorf and Astuce de la Roque (by Kannan) completed the top five. They did jump a clear round but got one point ahead of time.
