Abdel Saïd wins first round 4* World Cup in Riyadh

The first round of the 4* World Cup at Jump Saudi in Riyadh earlier this evening was won by the Belgian Abdel Saïd. Together with the 12-year-old chestnut mare Arpege du RU (Apache d'Adriers), he rode to the fastest time over the 1.50m course.

A fastest time of 60.09 seconds not only earned Abdel Saïd and the Selle Français mare Arpege du RU victory in the first round of the Riyadh 4* World Cup, but also spruced up the bank account with a nice 6,500 euros. Irishman Bertram Allen stopped the clock at 60.47 seconds, following in second place with the 8-year-old chestnut gelding Empoli de Champloue (Arko III). Rounding out the podium was Mouda Zeyada for Egypt, by sending the 9-year-old KWPN mare Katia (Emerald van't Ruytershof) around in a time of 61.35 seconds.

For Jordan, Ibrahim Hani Bisharat placed fourth in the saddle of the 10-year-old KWPN mare Happyness (Van Gogh), ahead of Japan's Mike Kawai and Saxo de La Cour (Dollar Dela Pierre).
