Elian Baumann wins first 4 * class of the day in Rabat

The day in Rabat kicked off with a 4* 1.45m Longines Ranking class, which immediately turned out to be right up the alley of Elian Baumann. The Swiss rode Campari Z, a Contact of de Heffinck son, quickly and swiftly through both the basic course and the jump-off, and went home with gold.

Baumann completed the jump-off in a clear time of 35.15 seconds, just 20 hundredths faster than Austrian Christoph Obernauer with Kleons Renegade (Quintero). The Italian Emanuele Gaudiano finished third on the back of the dark brown stallion Crack Balou (Balou du Reventon).

Just off the podium, there was a German party. Sophie Hinners jumped to fourth place with Fbw Graphik (Graf Rhapsody), ahead of compatriot Nicola Pohl in the saddle of Catz de Sulpice (Tresor de Viron).
