Julien Epaillard in the lead in 5* 1.50m class Lyon

A strong French delegation in Lyon leaves little room for the foreign field of participants. At the head of the first 5* competition of the day, it was Julien Epaillard on the back of Donatello d'Auge (Jarnac) who finished this home match with gold.

Epaillard was the only one to send 9-year-old Donatello d'Auge around under 29 seconds, preventing the Belgian and vice world champion Jérôme Guery and Azaria Dinero (Mylord Carthago) from taking the gold. In third place the top French rider Penelope Leprevost settled in the saddle of Texas (Tornesch 1042).

Just off the podium, Israeli combination Robin Muhr with Baccarat Meniljean (Diamant de Semilly) followed in fourth, ahead of another Frenchwoman, Megane Moissonnier on Bracadabra (Pacific des Essarts).
