Lexington, KY – September 7, 2022 – Ella Kraut of Devon, NJ, was awarded the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Style of Riding Award at the 2022 Hampton Classic Horse Show. The Style of Riding Award is presented to the Junior Jumper rider who best exemplifies the American style of equitation, as modeled by Show Jumping Hall of Famers such as Conrad Homfeld and Joe Fargis.
Kraut, who is trained by Frank Madden and his team at Capital Hill Show Stables, competed with several horses in the High Junior/Amateur Jumper division, including the $25,000 Agneta and Brownlee Currey Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic, a member event of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series. Kraut finished fourth in the Classic with her 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Nakia. She also rode Pablo Mejia’s 9-year-old Selle Francais mare Dream De San Isidro through the division, including the $10,000 Lugano Diamonds Junior/Amateur Welcome Stake.
Prior to competing at the Classic, Kraut and Nakia competed at the North American Youth Championships in early August. She and Dream De San Isidro also had a sixth-place finish in the $25,000 Grand Prix of Princeton at the Princeton Summer Welcome in July. Additionally, Kraut was a 2021 New England Equitation Championships finalist with Ruby Ransco’s 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding Topper and ASPCA Maclay finalist with Holman Imports LLC’s 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Ironman.
