Nelson Pessoa is new coach of Australian eventing team

The Australian team secured Nelson Pessoa as their eventing team jumping coach.

The team put the following post on Facebook:

"The High Performance program has been very fortunate to secure Mr. Nelson Pessoa as the Eventing Team jumping coach, a move that has already seen a marked improvement on our athletes performances in the jumping phase of competition.

Mr. Pessoa has been working with our European based riders for the past 18-months, and also our Australian based riders during his time here of the Oceania Championships, and the feedback from the riders has been overwhelmingly positive.

Currently Mr. Pessoa is conducting a High Performance Squad clinic in the UK with Chris Burton, Andrew Hoy, Sam Griffiths and Kevin McNab.

The focus of the clinic is to prepare the horses for upcoming Tokyo 2020 qualifications events such as Blenheim PalaceMilitary Boekelo - Enschede and Strzegom Horse Trials.

“We’ve had a great couple of days training with Nelson and I’m feeling well prepared for our upcoming competitions” said Chris Burton of the clinic."
