Ready? Set. Go! Six days of top sport in Aachen have just been kicked off by the Opening Jumping Competition. The 1.45m high course, built in one of the world's most phenomenal arena's, was absolutely Roger Yves Bost's cup of tea. With Bluemuch des Baleines (Chacco-Blue), he was the only one to clear the course under 63 seconds, which gave him the victory.
A phenomenal win for Roger Yves Bost in the first of many more competitions to come at the "Wimbledon of the equestrian sport". With Bluemuch des Baleines, Bost crossed the finish line in a time of 62.78 seconds and set with only four more combinations to go a new - and unbeatable - time to beat. Pius Schwizer came in second with Bakatina de Beaufour (Ogano Sitte), followed by Mario Stevens and Botakara Old (Balou du Rouet).
In the top five Pierre Marie Friant paced fourth with Bianca Star (Quick Star), before Rodrigo Pessoa Lord Lucio (Legolas).
