It was a busy Saturday in the international jumping scène, with also in Gijón, Spain, a Longines Ranking class. The CSI4* 1m50 main class of the Concurso Hípico Internacional found its winner on home soil, with Álvaro González De Zarate placing on top of the list.
The 9-year-old Casa Diva PS (Casallco) provided Álvaro González De Zarate (ESP) with victory in front of his own crowd. A half-second difference kept Harry Allen (IRL) with Lukaku vd Bisschop (Plot Blue, F: Tom de Craene) in second place. Only these two combinations managed to finish without any faults. Third place was filled in by local rider Pello Elorduy Ibarzabal (ESP) and Champenoise de Rampan (Voltigeur de Rampan).
Laura Renwick (GBR) also had a 9-year-old talent under her saddle and became fourth with Komos A, a stallion sired by Arezzo VDL. Following at five was the Zangersheide stallion d'Amerique van de Vlasrede Z (Diamant de Semilly) under Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (ESP).
