In an exciting CSI4* 1.50m class on Saturday evening in Valkenswaard—the qualifier for the Grand Prix during the Summer Festival 2—some of the world’s top combinations battled against the clock. The victory ultimately went to Qatari rider Bassem Mohammed, who delivered a faultless round with F One Usa (Toulon) and posted a blistering time of 73.86 seconds.
Close behind him was Dutch rider Kevin Jochems, who piloted Casquetto van de Helle (Casquetto) to a near-identical time of 73.98 seconds, earning the best Dutch result of the evening. Saudi Arabia’s Khaled Almobty finished third with Davenport VDL (Diamant De Semilly), also going clear in 75.21 seconds.
The Belgian riders made a strong impression with two placing in the top five. Koen Vereecke guided Oilily de Muze (Vigo d'Arsouilles) to an impressive fourth place in 75.61 seconds, followed by compatriot Gudrun Patteet, who stopped the clock at 77.17 seconds aboard Sea Coast Chica (Comme il faut) V.V. Z, securing fifth place.
