The Dinard Derby once again delivered top-level sport. In the 1.45m course, Sophie Hinners was the only rider to remain faultless. The German rider won the traditional class with her 10-year-old gelding, Munin (Mylord Carthago). “Munin’s character gave me so much confidence, I knew we could do it,” Hinners said afterward.
"Winning this Derby is truly special. I know Munin inside and out. He’s been with us since he was a foal, and he always manages to impress," she continued. "To win here in Dinard is extraordinary. The crowd really gets involved and supports each combination. What makes it even more special? This was our very first Derby together and we won it straight away..."
“This win proves that patience is always worth it in life. More importantly, it shows you should always follow your dreams,” Hinners concluded.
On stage, Nicolas Layec followed aboard 9-year-old Georgio Louvo Z (George). With one jumping fault the French pair advanced on compatriot, Robin Lesqueren and Galax du Rouet (Lauterbach).
