During the CSI5* 1.50m Special Two Phases at the prestigious Jumping International of Dinard, the audience was treated to a thrilling contest in the grass arena. The victory went convincingly to the newly crowned European Champion Richard Vogel.
Richard Vogel once again demonstrated why he is among the absolute elite in the sport. Riding the mare Cubi Cubells, an elegant daughter of Comme Il Faut, he delivered a faultless and lightning-fast round that secured him the win in this two-phase competition. The duo achieved a score of 550 points, putting them ahead of the French crowd favorite Julien Épaillard.
Épaillard, who competed with the impressive stallion Fringan de Vesquerie (Mylord Carthago), finished second with a score of 530 points. Close behind was his compatriot Roger-Yves Bost, who accumulated 522 points with Embassy du Chateau (Jarnac). Irish rider Daniel Coyle placed fourth with Daydream (Phin Phin), just ahead of German rider Katrin Eckermann. She completed the top five with Chao Lee (Comme Il Faut), the experienced Rhineland mare with whom she has claimed multiple victories.
Belgian riders also made their presence known. Gregory Wathelet rode Double Jeu d’Honvault (Kannan) to an impressive sixth place, earning €1,650 in prize money. Nathan Budd also upheld Belgian honor by finishing eighth with Ely des Rosiers Z (Emerald Van 't Ruytershof). Abdel Saïd finished eleventh with Quaker Brimbelles Z (Quicksilver St. Simeon).
