Britain's Ben Maher, riding Ginger-Blue, a 14-year-old mare by Plot Blue, recorded a breathtaking time of 59.41 seconds, without any penalties. This performance secured Maher the victory.

Germany's Richard Vogel finished second with Qaparezzo-A (Arezzo VDL), who won the second qualifying round at the European Championships yesterday. He also jumped clear, clocking a time of 59.95 seconds.

Third place went to Belgium, where Thibault Philippaerts impressed with Quilano, a 9-year-old gelding also by Arezzo VDL. Philippaerts rode a precise round in 60.34 seconds, remaining clear. His performance demonstrated the young Belgian's growing potential in international show jumping.

Fourth place went to Spain's Javier Gonzalez Fraga with Sonic JGF, who also jumped clear, crossing the finish line in 60.96 seconds. Fellow compatriot Jesus Garmendia Echevarria followed in fifth place with Caramel Blue PS, also penalty-free, in a time of 61.65 seconds.

The victory in the 1m35 class went to Spaniard Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, who rode a clear round in 68.12 seconds with his nine-year-old mare Genaro Paulois (Aldo du Plessis). Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten finished second with the experienced Elwikke (Eldorado van de Zeshoek). He rode a flawless round in 69.02 seconds, just one second shy of victory but still clinching a silver medal.

Germany was also represented on the podium, thanks to Marcus Ehning, who rode a clear round with Askala NRW (A La Carte NRW) in 71.37 seconds.

Swedish rider Sofia Westborg finished just shy of the podium. With her horse Kamal (Jamal van de Heffinck), she clocked 71.39 seconds, also without faults. Fifth place went to Spain, with Imma Roquet Autonell and Irivola del Maset. She also remained faultless, completing the course in 71.58 seconds.
