Before the Nations Cup bursts loose on Belgian soil, the CSIO5* Grand Prix Qualifier was being ridden. Daniel Deusser took home victory aboard Otello de Guldenboom after an exciting jump-off.
Hugo Versnick saw his home bred Otello de Guldenboom (Tobago Z) grab victory under Daniel Deusser. They were 1/5th of a second ahead of Steve Guerdat and Lancelotta (Falkenhof's Lancer). The top three was decided by Scott Brash and Chadora Lady (Chacco-Blue).
Harrie Smolders sent the 12-year-old son of Non Stop through the jump-off with no faults and landed fourth place. Koen Vereecke had the 10-year-old Oilily de Muze (Vigo d'Arsouilles) under the saddle and twice piloted the daughter of Vigo d'Arsouilles, from the breeding farm of Joris De Brabander and Paul Hendrix, to the finish line without faults. Their corresponding time placed the Belgian combination in fifth place.
