In Madrid, the first day of an international weekend has been concluded with the Barclays Throphy. This was a 1,45m class with 36 starters who battled it out against each other and against the clock. Eventually it was the Belgian rider Jérome Guery who was the fastest with the 11-year old Alicante (f. Casall). They jumped a very fast clear round and finished in 55,92 seconds. With this time they beat home riders Teresa Blazquez-Abascal and Leticia Riva Gil. Blazquez-Abascal and Carola (f. Dutch Capitol) ended on second place. They left the wood untouched and finished in 56,01 seconds. Leticia Riva Gil and her 11-year old Selle Français mare Roanne de Mars (f. Kannan) ended on third place with a time of 56,71 seconds. Luis Sabino Goncalves ended on fourth place with Acheo di San Patrignano (f. Ephebe For Ever). Marie Demonte and Royalty du Genet (f. Diamant de Semilly) completed the top five.
