CSI Vilamoura: Portuguese riders rule the show on final day

The Vilamoura Champions Tour is slowly reaching its end. The Grand Prix is scheduled for later this afternoon, but in the meanwhile many 3-star classes have already been ridden. And it were the Portuguese riders who ruled the show! In the 1,20m class, Ricardo Gil Santos took the victory. He was the fastest in a jump-off with 19 combinations. He rode Copacabana (Celano) in 26,20 seconds to the victory. This appeared to be a very fast time that no other combination could beat. The second place went to Portugal as well. Martim Portela De Morais and Sphinx De Sand (Quincy) reached the finish line in 28,26 seconds. Kerry Mc Cahill completed the top three with Izerro (Cicero Z). They jumped a clear jump-off as well in 28,40 seconds. Simao Maio Reis took account for the fourth place with Casalco (Casall). Fifth place was for Jeremy Vieira (Guepard de Brekka). The CSI3*-riders also jumped a 1,30m class against the clock today. In this class it was again a Portuguese rider who took the victory. This time it was Duarte Seabra who rushed to the gold medal with Harry Clover. Seabra and Harry Clover finished in 62,04 seconds. Second place was for Pascal Levy. He rode Balou (Baloubet du Rouet) and was only a little bit slower than Seabra. Levy finished in 62,28 seconds. The Portuguese rider Carolina Cornemillot ended on third place. She and her mare Isela Del Maset (Indret Del Maset) crossed the finish line after 62,73 seconds. Philipp Spivey (Kasparov) and Carolina Aresu Garcia Obregon (Xica) completed the top five. In the afternoon, a 1,40m class was scheduled and again the victory stayed in Portugal. Luis Sabino Goncalves rode Acheo Di San Patrignano (Ephebe For Ever) in 57,31 seconds to the victory. Second place went to Darragh Kenny and Picolo (Diamant de Semilly). They cleared the course and jumped a very fast round, but they weren't fast enough to beat Kenny. The Russian rider Tuganov completed the top three. He and Pour LePoussage (Polytraum) ended on third spot in 58,85 seconds. The young British rider Jessica Mendoza ended on fourth spot with Zahra II (Kashmir van Schuttershof). Phillip Spivey (Virginia 188) took account for fifth place. Click here for the results
