Devin Ryan on top in HITS Ocala's kick-off Welcome Stake

It's an eternal sunshine at the HITS Ocala horse show. Tomorrow the Nations Cup is on the program, where four teams are in for the points. Today the international program kicked-off with the 1.40m Welcome Stake. A total of 37 combinations took the start at the inernational ring. After a clear round in 54.12 seconds USA's Devin Ryan claimed victory aboard the 8-years-old KWPN-gelding, Eddie Blue (Zirocco Blue VDL). Marc Houtzager's former ride was followed by Lisa Goldmann and the 11-year-old Sovereign (Frontal). The pair crossed the finish in 54.45 seconds. Lauren Hough and Joblesse followed in a third place. Caroline de Laet's former ride, the 8-year-old Joblesse van 't Ravennest (Clinton) stopped the clock in 55.04 seconds. Paris Sellon (Quantas, by Quintero) and Andrew Bourns (Charming Girl, by Cassini II) completed the top five in a fourth and fifth place.   CLICK HERE FOR THE RESULTS
