The French Chef d'Equipe, Philippe Guerdat, hasn't had the chance to enjoy his stay at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Earlier this week Simon Delestre and Ryan Des Hayettes forfait for the Games after a microscopic injury with Ryan. As a replacement Philippe Rozier and Rahotep de Toscane stand ready to defend the 'tricolor'. Meanwhile the world number three, Pénélope Leprévost has announced her Belgian Warmblood mare, Flora de Mariposa (by For Pleasure) has had a minor Colic attack. The combination their first Olympic debute is at the moment doubtful. Today the show jumping riders will warm-up for the games and tomorrow the first qualifier is scheduled. Tomorrow morning Leprévost and her team will take the final decision wether to compete or not. If the pair decides to forfait as well, France will only see three riders at the start for the race to the team gold medal.
