In the thrilling 'Van Schijndel Bouwgroep' Derby Emanuele Gaudiano took the victory with the always super fast mare Carlotta 232 (s. Chaccomo). The italian rider still had something to make up from last year. He didn't see his time was already counting and started to late. Luckily this year wasn't a repetition of last year. The combination started in full speed to beat the fast time of Michael van der Vleuten and VDL Groep Quatro (s. Quaprice Boimargot Quincy). Both competitors didn't waste a meter and went full speed through the corridor to the warm-up arena where two more jumps were placed. Gaudiano was just that little bit faster as van der Vleuten in this part. He also managed to keep the pace until the end of the course. Van der Vleuten's ride looked a little bit more flexible. The dutch rider really didn't waste a millimeter and finished after 81.17 seconds. Gaudiano was just a little bit faster in 80.31 seconds. Bertram Allen did a nice attempt to take over the lead as he was the last rider to go in. He won a lot of time when he came back from the warm-up to the main arena with his mare Eh Quick Nina (s. Quidam's Rubin) but just a little bit later they knocked a pole down. Four seconds were added to his time of 79.83 seconds. He finally ended in third place. Place four and five were for two belgian riders. Nicola Philippaerts rode a smooth clear round with Ustina Sitte (s. Clinton) in 87.36 seconds and ended in fourth place. Gudrun Patteet knocked one pole down with Sea Coast Calypso van de Zuuthoeve (s. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) but was quite fast. They ended in fifth place with a total of 88.65 seconds.
