Encore for Spencer Smith with only clear round in Grand Prix of Valence

The riders in the Grand Prix of Valence, France, dealt with a vivacious course today. In this 1m60 showjumping course there was only one combination who kept a clear round in the first round of the competition, so there was no jump-off. It was the Young Rider from the USA who went on repeat by winning the Grand Prix with the only clear round. Earlier this year he and his Theodore Manciais (by Kashmir van Schuttershof) were the only clear combination in the Grand Prix of Wellington, today they repeated this stunt by being the only clear combination in Valence. Fellow American rider Katherine A Dinan was the last start of the day and she also showed that a clear round was possible. Unfortunately she came across aboard her Dougie Douglas (by ARD VDL Douglas) with 1 penalty for time in 83.23 seconds keeping her in second place. In third place French rider Aldrick Cheronnet with Atlantys by Wisbecq finished with 2 penalties in 87.53 seconds. Completing the top five we found in fourth place Tiff Foster with Brighton (by Contendro) with 4 penalties, followed by a fifth place for Emanuele Gaudiano aboard Chalou (by Chacco Blue).     Find all results here
