Felix Hassmann too fast for the Belgian riders in Mechelen

In Mechelen, the first CSI5* class of the day has just been ridden. It was a 1m40 class ridden against the clock. 77 combinations entered the show ring, but only one of them could be the fastest. The fastest time came from the German rider Felix Hassmann. He stood in the lead for a very long time and in the end no other combination managed to go faster then Hassmann and his 12-year old gelding SL Brazonado (f. SI Baluarte). The rest of the top five, colored all Belgian. Wilm Vermeir ended on second place with Gentiane de la Pomme (f. Shindler de Muze). They left the wood untouched and finished in 64,46 seconds. Olivier Philippaerts and the 13-year old Ustina Sitte (f. Clinton) took account of the third place. The young Belgian rider jumped a clear round in 64,62 seconds. Christophe Vanderhasselt, who rode a very fast clear round early on in the class, ended on fourth place. He saddled his 11-year old BWP gelding Gino van de Vrunte (f. Jokinal de Bornival) for the job. Gilles Thomas and Conaro (f. Con Capitol) completed the top five. Click here for the results
