Unbeatable Thibeau Spits jumps to victory in FEI Pony Throphy of Mechelen

In Mechelen, one of the highlights of the evening has just been ridden: the FEI Pony Trophy. In this pony class, 16 entered the show ring. Four of those 16 combinations managed to jump a clear first round and came back for the jump-off. A jump-off with four combinations therefore had to decide about the winner. Bo Chiaro Gröning had to enter the show ring first. She was riding a very fast course with the 12-year old Chessy (f. Viktoria's Colano) but she didn't keep the wood untouched. One penalty for jumping resulted in four points. The third place went to the Belgian home rider Aaron Tijskens. He and the 11-year old Superbe de Laloena finished in 38,79 seconds. The Danish rider Anna Sofie Toernaes ended second. She was the first rider to jump a clear jump-off with her Kalypso Skovgaard (f. Krimh Ox) and finished in 36,75 seconds. The victory went to Thibeau Spits. The young Belgian rider was the last one to enter the show ring with Cleostrade (f. Ginus) but he managed to keep his cool. He finished in 36,67 seconds and left the wood untouched. Jade Fleur Calaque ended on fifth place. They left all fences untouched, but they got one penalty for time in the first round. The victory of Spits today means he also takes the lead in the overall ranking.
