In the first five-star competition of the day at the Knokke Hippique it was local hero, Gregory Wathelet who jumped to victory. Aboard his nine-year-old gelding, Sandero (f. Sandro Boy) Wathelet speeded to victory in the 1.45m class. With over one second difference, Olivier Philippaerts placed as runner-up. Wathelet's compatriot and H&M Forever D Arco Ter Linden (f. Udarco), stayed ahead of former Steve Guerdat. The Swiss showjumping rider disturbed a Belgium stage with his KWPN-sire, Epicor Da Gandarinha (f. Lupicor), placing third.
