Dutch course designer, Louis Konickx did built a spicy course yesterday at the international arena in Spruce Meadows. In the 1.55m main class 10 combinations qualified for the Jump-Off. Eventually it was USA's Richard Spooner who claimed victory aboard the 9-year-old Quirado RC (f. Quinar). The pair stopped the clock in 36.33 seconds. Compatriot, Quentin Judge ruled the first day in Calgary but settled for the runner-up spot in this class with the 13-year-old HH Contrad (f. ConAir). Rodrigo Lambre completed the stage with Chacciama (f. Chacco-Blue). For own audience it was Eric Lamaze who placed fourth. With Saura de Foncombre (f. Balou du Rouet) under the saddle the Canadian show jumping rider stayed ahead of Molly Ashe with the KWPN-mare, D'Arnita (f. Vingino). In the 1.50m Friends of the Meadows Cup it was Tiffany Foster who jumped to victory with the KWPN-gelding, Brighton (f. Contendro) (ex. Beegien SFN). Click here for the results
