Houtzager and Vrieling battle it out in VDL Group Prize

After a fierce battle it was Marc Houtzager who beat fellow Dutch man Jur Vrieling in the final class of the evening at Indoor Brabant. As many as 18 combinations managed to keep the slate clean over the 1.55m high track in the VDL Group Prize tonight. As first starter it was German stylist Marcus Ehing who put a time to beat of 38.54 seconde on the clock with his BWP g gelding Gin Chin from the Lindenhof (by Chin Chin). After that it were Douglas Lindelöw, Hans-Dieter Dreher, Leopold van Asten and Christian Ahlmann who all fell short trying to beat the tim Ehinng had put on the scoreboard. Fifth starter was Emanuele Gaudiano looked very promising and clocked 36.78 seconds with hit stallion Chalou. But along the way he collected four faults for a pole that came down, meaning he did not manage to beat Ehning at his game. Jur Vrieling and Glasgow from Merelnest (v. Nabab de Reve) however did succeed! Earlier this year the duo was already successfully in Drachten and Amsterdam. Tonight Vrieling and his BWP bred stallion had another good go at the top spot. The pair crossed the finish line in 36.61 seconds. Shortly after it Marc Houtzager who came to claim the prize. Aboard the quickly turning KWPN gelding Sterrehof's Calimero (v. Quidam de Revel) the Dutch ride crossed the finish line in 36.17 seconds. Sending Vrieling to the second place and Ehing to the third spot. The top five was completely by French rider Penelope Leprevost in fourth place and Maikel van der Vleuten on fifth place.
