International youth invites itself in Megeve

The countdown has started, just a few days before the start of the Jumping International de Megève - Edmond de Rothschild, preparations have intensified to offer both public and riders a colourful 5th edition. The unavoidable Megève competition, being held from the 21st to the 26th of July, will this year, yet again, welcome some of the best riders in the world from 17 different nations. Course builder since the creation of this CSI***, Frédéric Cottier, who recently officiated at the FEI Alltech™ World Equestrian Games 2014, will certainly be offering technically challenging and selective courses to the riders. A challenge that will without a doubt be taken up by Frédérique Fabre-Delbos (SUI) with Nirvana, winners of the Grand Prix de Megève-Edmond de Rothschild in 2014, bringing their title into play. The talented Laura Kraut, ambassador of American equitation, will also be in the starting blocks with Andretti S and Deauville S. Possessing an extremely strong international record including a Team gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, a Team silver at the 2006 World Equestrian and 8 participations at FEI World Cup Finals, no one doubts that the lady rider will push the competition to the highest level. She will also be bringing her pupils and making the most of this alpine competition to help them progress in this ring reputed for being particularly tricky. Eagerly awaited, the Italian Natale Chiaudani, who took in quick succession the first two classes of this CSI*** in 2014, returns this year, throwing his cards on the table with three rides, Almero 12, Sly de la Magnifica and V. Another formidable competitor, the Winner of the Madrid stage of the World Cup, Carlos Lopez (COL), won’t hesitate either to try and foil the inevitable course difficulties in order to take Sundays’ Grand Prix counting for the world ranking list and offering 40,000€ of prize money. The French will be able to count on some of their biggest talents. A regular at this competition, Alexandre Fontanelle, who has lately defended his country not only in Nations Cups at both la Baule (FR) and Sopot (POL) but equally in CSI5*** competitions such as London Olympia and the Saut Hermès, has confirmed his presence. Accompanying Rosette du Vivier and Tzara Belin, the young pilot must defy the seniors to climb onto the top step of the podium. Edward Levy and Starlette de la Roque, who finished 4th in the “Championnat des AS Jeunes Cavaliers” 2015 (French YR Championship) at Mâcon a few days ago, will also be taking part as will be Alix Ragot, Julien Gonin and even Cyril Bouvard, recent winner of the Grand Prix 160 at the Poznan Wola CSI4* in Poland. On the feminine side the new generation is also honoured as Fanny Skalli and Mégane Moissonier have a date at Megève, just like the young Lalie Saclier and her very good ride Quebec un Prince, on whom she competed, as a team member, at the last European Junior Championships. First class moments of sharing, conviviality and sport, the Jumping International de Megève - Edmond de Rothschild will delight spectators and competitors during 6 days of competition and festivities. For entertainment between classes the public will be able to enjoy numerous attractions and an original and unique exhibitors village. Not to be missed is the impressive 6 bar class : The show record, set last year, stands at 2.10m, will it be beaten ? The answer on Saturday July 25th 2015 starting at 6pm !
