In Verona the 5*-international competition was kicked off this morning with the CSI5*-W 1,45m. Right away, the Italian riders claimed the top five with Eugenio Grimaldi in the lead. With his Belgian-bred gelding Hurricaine vd Fruitkorf (Darco), he jumped to the first place in 32,04 seconds. Fellow countryman Guido Franchi counted on Quixotic DC (Burggraaf) for his second place in 32,21 seconds. Filippo Marco Bologni and Quidich de la Chavee (President) finished third. Emanuele Gaudiano and fourteen-year-old Chekhov PKZ (Cornet Obolensky) finished the Italian row and took the fourth spot in 32,93 seconds, too fast for Finlands' Juulia Jyläs and Courage T Z (Calvino Z).
