Jerome Guery delivers Belgian victory in La Baule

A huge enthousiastic crowd was present for the Longines Jumping Grand Prix in la Baule, France. The audiance was hoping to hear the Marselleise but it was Belgium's Jerome Guery who took the honours. Aboard Grand Cru de Rozenberg, Guery claimed victory after an exciting jump-off. Frederic Cottier designed a heavy course where the oxer (fence number 6) and river - tripel combination seemed to be difficult to beat. Man in form, Eric Lamaze tackes upChacco Kid, but concluded with four points. Also world number one, Simon Delestre  and Beau Qlassic Bois Margot left the arena with one rail down. Only eleven combinations produced a first clear round.  Margie Goldstein-Engle (USA) and Royce, Kevin Staut (FRA) and Elky van Het Indihof HDC, Bertram Allen (IRL) and Romanov, Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) and Flora de Mariposa, Cédric Angot (FRA) and Saxo de la Cour, Johnny Pals (PB) and Fernando, René Lopez (COL) and Con Dios III, Lucy Davis (USA) and Barron, Gudrun Patteet (BEL) and Sea Coast Pebbles Z, Jérôme Guéry (BEL) and Grand Cru de Rozenberg, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (ALL) and Fibonacci 17. Penelope Leprevost was the first to enter and she set the pase with a finishin 36.19 seconds. However Jerome Guery and Grand Cru de Rozenberg however didn't have a problem with Leprevost's time. Thepair stopped the clock in 35.74 seconds, finishing victoriously. The stage was completed by Meredith Michaels Beerbaum and  Fibonacci 74.
