Updated : Lucy Davis injured

American rider Lucy Davis has injured her hand while competing at the Stephex Masters in Belgium. It seems that she is in hospital. Her trainer Markus Beerbaum confirmed the injury : “She cut her hand open right by her thumb, and it had to get stitched up,” he said. “I don’t know exactly what happened—I wasn’t there. But I helped her get it fixed. She went to see a doctor, and we’ll know more tomorrow as far as her prognosis for riding at the [World Games], obviously. She had a local anesthetic on her left hand and got it stitched up.” Lucy is a member of the American Team for the World Equestrian Games. Hopefully she will recover in time before the games. Earlier this month American reserve rider Margie Engle was replaced by Charlie Jayne after Margie broke her collarbone.
