Press Release : Saut Hermes While While some Parisians watched over 50,000 runners set off for the Paris Marathon, others packed into the grandstands of the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais to enjoy the last day of competitions. Indeed, among all the top international riders present, one seems to have been also prepared for a marathon, the Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten. Having Having won the Prix GL events yesterday, Maikel van der Vleuten went on to claim victory in the Prix de la Ville de Paris this morning, with 32 riders in the starting line-up. Thanks to a very quick, clear round in the second leg of the class, the reigning team world championship gold-medallist took first place on VDL Groep Eureka ahead of the Spanish Hermès-partner rider, Pilar Lucrecia Cordon/Nuage Bleu (2nd) and the Irish rider Billy Twomey/Lizziemary (3rd). With 4 penalty points despite riding faster rounds than the young Dutchman, the Olympic champion Steve Guerdat (SUI)/Nasa, and the European champion Roger-Yves Bost (FRA)/Sydney Une Prince had to settle for 7th and 8th place respectively.
