NAL Moves West Coast Finals to San Juan Capistrano, CA

To increase opportunities for competitors, the North American League (NAL) is moving the NAL West Coast Finals from Las Vegas, NV to San Juan Capistrano, CA.  The 2017 Finals will be held during the International Jumping Festival, hosted by Blenheim EquiSports, September 20-24.
The 2017 NAL West Coast Finals feature the $5,000 Adult Jumper Presented by SmartPak, $5,000 Children's Jumper Presented by EquiFit, $5,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper, $5,000 Adult Hunter and $5,000 Children's Hunter.
"Moving the NAL West Coast Finals to San Juan Capistrano is a great opportunity for those who have not yet competed in the Finals and have always wanted to," said Annette Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services, which administers the North American League. "With this move to a bigger horse show in a more accessible area, we are making the Finals available to an even larger number of riders. We invite all riders to join the NAL today to give themselves a chance to compete in the Finals this year."
The NAL Finals join several other championship events at the International Jumping Festival including a $30,000 Grand Prix; the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals West, Young Jumper Championships - West and Young Jumper Futurity - 4-year-old Regionals.  There will also be lots of opportunities for NAL riders to compete in other classes while competing at the Festival.
The San Juan Capistrano facility not only boasts an expansive outdoor arena but it is also more accessible to exhibitors. The Children's and Adult Hunter Finals will be held in the grass hunter ring.
Blenheim EquiSports is based in San Juan Capistrano, CA and produces events in San Juan Capistrano, Del Mar and Las Vegas, NV. Events include USEF "Premier" rated hunter-jumper shows featuring multiple grand prix events, USHJA International Hunter Derbies, Pony Finals, Medal Finals and more. A total of 14 Children's Hunter, Children's Jumper, Adult Hunter, Adult Jumper, and 1.30m Junior/Amateur Owners Jumper NAL Qualifiers will be held during Blenheim EquiSports shows throughout the year giving riders opportunities to qualify for the Finals.
"We are excited to continue our role hosting the NAL Finals," said Melissa Brandes, Vice President of Marketing at Blenheim EquiSports. "San Juan Capistrano is a superb facility that makes it much easier for riders to compete in the NAL Finals and we think that the NAL West Coast Finals will quickly become established as an integral part of the horse show."
The NAL qualifying season runs from September 1 through August 31. NAL qualifying classes are open to all competitors but only current members are awarded points. By joining the NAL, riders can accumulate the points necessary to make it to the National Finals held at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA, October 13-22, and West Coast Finals at San Juan Capistrano, September 20-24. Annual memberships are only $40 per rider.
