In today CSI4* Derby Qualifier at the Hamburg Derby it was Nigel Coupe who steered ahead of a German field to claim victory with hit Golvers Hill. Aboard his 14-year old Irish sports horse the Brit was more then two seconds faster as the Geman competition who folled with the seven of them. Germany nearly claimed the whole top 10 in 1.50m high qualifier today. But it were the Brits who opened and closed it as Coupe took the victory home board his Golvers Hill (by Ricardo Z) in a clear round of 102.13 seconds. William Whitaker finished in ninth with a clear round in 113.96 seconds riding his Glenavadra Brilliant. In between the two British riders it was a all German field. Holger Wulschner followed in second place with BSC Cavity (by Caretino). The pair was cheered on by the home crowd but needed 104.70 seconds to complete te course. Third place went to Andre Thiemen and de only 9-year-old Contaur (by Conteros). Top eventer Kai Rüder, who had just returned from a victory in Strzegom, came in fourth place with Cross Keys ( by Cassall). In 105.20 seconds Rüder stayed ahead of Benjamin Wulschner and La Darca (by Landos). Go here to see all the results.
