Pieter Devos speeds ahead of Van der Vleuten in Leipzig

Pieter Devos scored considerably at the CSI5* Pferd & Partner in Leipzig today. In the easter german city he just closed up the night by beating Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten in the 1.45m speed test. Riding the 14-year-old Equipharma Dax d'Abijdhoeve (v. Desir du Chateau) Devos put a time on the clock of 51.11 seconds. With the two rider being well matched Van der Vleuten set off to a fantastic ride with his mare Dana Blue (v. Mr. Blue) but came up short just seven hundredths of a second. Brazillian rider Yuri Mansur claimed the third price. Aboard Cula Lou V (v. Chacco Blue) he crossed the finish line in 54.44 seconds to finish just ahead of Max Kuhner from Austria. He followed closely behind Mansur with the Cardento gelding Clooney 35 (v. Cardento). Dutch rider Harrie Smolders had already shown that his new rider Zinius is a good fit during  CSI5* Mechelen. But in Leipzig Smolders also seems to be on a role. After his win yesterday he took the fifth spot in todays speed class with the Nabab de Reve son.
