It was Great-Britains Jessica Mendoza and Wan Architect (by Springtime) that performed well finishing with the maximum of 65 points in a time of 53.01 seconds. But it was Belgian rider Henrik Denutte aboard Cassis van de Kranenburg (by Toulon) that soon took over stopping the clock on 52.96 seconds. Denutte held on to his lead for quite some time, but about thirty riders later he lost his position to Santiago Lambre and the 9-year-old gelding Bond Lover (by Balou du Rouet). The pair was just a bit faters in 52.43 seconds pushing Denutte to the second place. Mendoza ended up finishing as third ahead of Gregory Cottard (FRA) and Philippe Le Jeune (BEL) who finalized the top five.
