Simon Delestre takes a victorious start in Rome

The first day of the Longines Global Champions Tour in Rome, Italy, concluded with a 1.50m class. Together with the 11-year-old Chesall Zimequest (by Casall), France's Simon Delestre topped the class. Only eight combinations qualified for the jump-off. Delestre and Chesall Zimequest stopped the clock in 35.35 seconds, good for the over 30,000 Euro win. Switzerland's Pius Schwizer followed in a second place aboard the 10-year-old Leonard de la Ferme CH (by Landjuweel). Schwizer crossed the finish in 36.00 seconds. Marco Kutscher completed the stage. With SIEC Carsten - an 11-year-old Cassini-stallion - Kutscher stopped the clock in 36.59 seconds. The top five was completed by Leopold Van Asten with VDL Groep Miss Untouchable in fourth and Piergiorgio Bucci with Cuarta in fifth. Paris Sellon set the best USA result. Aboard her 11-year-old bay mare Adare (by Royal Bravour), Sellon completed the first round with one time penalty. Eventually she placed 9th.
