Maikel Van der Vleuten takes a strong start in Rome

Also in Rome at the Longines Global Champions Tour, the international five star riders have started their competition. In the 1.45m opening class it was Dutch show jumping rider, Maikel van der Vleuten who topped the class aboard the 10-year-old VDL Groep Quatro (by Quaprice Boimargot Quincy). The pair won after a clear finish in 26.36 seconds. David Will and the 16-year-old Mic Mac du Taillard (by Cruising) followed in a second place. The combination stopped the clock in 26.42 seconds. Samantha McIntosh placed third with the 9-year-old Lady Gaga 18 (by Lazio). Kevin Jochems (Quppydam Des Horts) and France's Simon Delestre (Utah d'Aiguilly) completed the top five.
