Team Magic victorious in Hong Kong Jockey Club Race of the Riders

In Hong Kong the Longines Masters continue. After the 1.45m speedclass it was time for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Race of the Riders. Four teams of two riders, a show jumping rider and a jockey, rode a course that had the height of 1.15/1.20m for the professional show jumper and 70cm for the jockey. The two best teams came back in the final round. It was team Magic who was the fastest in this Table C relay competition. The French rider Roger-Yves Bost formed a team with the Brazilian jockey Joao Moreira. They were the fastest in both rounds. In the final round they had a time of 60.50 seconds. Team Blaze followed on the second place. The team with number one of the world Daniel Deusser and Irish jockey Neil Callan were a little bit slower in 62.00 seconds. Team Hong Kong was the favorite of the public and entered the arena first. Jacqueline Lai and jockey Vincent Ho had 8 penalties added to their time because they had two jumping faults and ended on a total time of 78.70 seconds. This was good enough for a third place. Team Flames, with Simon Delestre and Chinese jockey Derek Leung were having a good round, but Derek Leung rode a wrong course and they got disqualified. Click here for the results.
