USA wins the Mannheim Nations Cup

It looked like the Belgium showjumping squad was on its way to victory in the FEI Furusiyya Nations Cup in Mannheim, Germany, just like last year. Eventually the Red Jumping Devils had to be satisfied with a runner-up place. After a jump-off with 3 countries it were the United States of America who claimed the win. The 100th Nations Cup edition was moved this year to Mannheim, as the European Championships will be held in Aachen. Laura Kraut (Nouvelle), Kirsten Coe (with Tal Milstein's reference Baronez), Lucy Davis (Barron) and Elizabeth Madden (Cores C) collected a total of 0 points. Dirk Demeersman's team followed in a second place with a total of 0 points. Pieter DEvos (Dylano), Jérome Guery (Papillon Z), Jos Lansink (Ensor De Litrange LXIII) and Judy Ann Melchior (As Cold As Ice Z) had a downfall in the first round with 8 points. But they rode a strong second round. Germany finished third. In the jump-off it was Christian Ahlmann who finished with four points. Aboard Taloubet Z he was accompanied by Hans-Dieter Dreher (Embassy), Meredith-Michaels Beerbaum (Fibonacci) and Ludger Beerbaum (Chiara). The team finished with four points. The fourth place, just outside the stage was for Switzerland, finishing with 20 points.
