Team
In Berlin the first round of the GCL competition just took place, the riders of the Valkenswaard United team proved to be the strongest. Both Alberto Zorzi and Marcus Ehning completed the course without mistakes and were a little bit under four seconds faster than the St Tropez Pirates. Zorzi saddled Fair Light van T Heike and Ehning jumped Cornado NRW.
Pieter Devos and Apart rode a perfect round for the St Tropez Pirates and so did his teammate Edwina Tops-Alexander, she rode the stallion California.
The hometeam, the Berlin Eagles, also jumped onto the podium. Both Christian Kukuk (Cordess) and Ludger Beerbaum (Casello) pulled of clear rounds.
Individual
Individually it was the young Belgian rider Olivier Philippaerts that took the victory. Aboard his well trusted H&M Legend of Love (Landzauber) he was the fifth rider to start and immediately he put down a very fast time. They stopped the timers in 64,26 seconds, a time that could not be topped. Peder Fredricson gave it his best with Hansson WL (Hip Hop) but they were a second slower.
Felix Haßmann completed the podium for Germany, he completed the course in 65,62 seconds aboard Balzaci (Balou du Rouet).
