Van de Pol's top ride, Spartacus has passed away

The Dutch Team Nijhof is again confronted with sad news. Earlier this year their horses Lord Z, Florencio I and the almost 5-year-old Championship stallion, Latour VDM passed away. Today the show jumping stable has said goodbye to their 13-year-old stallion VDL Groep Spartacus TN (Stakkato x Grannus). The stallion passed away even before surgeon Tom Mariën could start operating the horse for its colic attack. Spartacus jumped under the saddle of Dutch show jumping rider, Henk van de Pol. The show jumper finsihed third at the beginning of this month in the CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix in Arnhem. Before Van de Pol took over the reins Spartacus has been in competition with Marco Kutscher, Hanno Ellermann and Eric van der Vleuten.
